  15. 1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
  16. 1 sprig curry leaves
  17. 1 tsp. urad dal

Steps to make to make Raw Banana Idli

  1. Grate the boiled raw banana.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and temper with dry red chilies and mustard seeds. After it stops spluttering, add the urad dal and curry leaves. Sauté for a few seconds.
  3. Now add the semolina and stir fry till light brown. Allow it to cool down.
  4. Mix together the grated raw banana, the tempered semolina mix, yoghurt, coconut, ginger, green chilies, coriander leaves & salt.
  5. Add some water & prepare a thick batter. Keep aside for 15-20 minutes. Adjust the consistency by adding more water if needed.
  6. Just before steaming, add eno fruit salt and mix well.
  7. Place a sliced raw banana into each greased idli mould.
  8. Spoon the batter over it.
  9. Steam for 15 minutes.
  10. Serve with chutney & sambar for a healthy & a nutritious breakfast.
